Dublin has produced some of the world’s great writers, including Oscar Wilde, Bram Stoker, James Joyce, W.B. Yeats, Samuel Beckett, Jonathan Swift and Sheridan Le Fanu, amongst many others. Home to one of Europe's first and oldest public libraries, Dublin was officially named “the City of Literature” in 2010. The Cluin Pattern pays tribute to the towering grid-like oak book shelves of the carefully preserved 18th century Marsh’s Library which has remained largely unchanged since it was built three-hundred years ago.
