General Competition Rules for Social Media

These rules apply to competitions being promoted on social media by Waterford, Wedgwood, Royal Doulton or Royal Albert, which are trading names of WWRD United Kingdom, Ltd. (“us”, “our”, or “we”), of Wedgwood Drive, Barlaston, Stoke-on-Trent, Staffordshire, ST12 9ER:

1. When we run a competition, our social media page(s) will publish details of:

i. how to enter the competition;

ii. when the competition will open to participants and when it will close;

iii. the prize(s) available to be won;

iv. how many winners will be selected; and

v. when the prize draw will take place.

This information may also be found at the end of these rules under the heading “Specific Competition Details”.

2. No purchase is required to enter our competitions.

3. Our competitions are open to residents of the United Kingdom, United States and Australia who are aged 18 and over, except:

i. our employees or employees of our holding or subsidiary companies;

ii. any person who is otherwise professionally connected with the competition or its administration; or

iii. members of the immediate families or households of 3(i) and 3(ii) above.

4. Entry to each competition is restricted to one per person. Multiple, automated, bulk or third party entries will be disqualified.

5. Prizes are subject to availability. There are no cash alternatives. We reserve the right at our sole discretion to substitute the prize(s) for any reason with a prize(s) of an equivalent value.

6. The winning entry (or entries) which complies with these rules will be randomly selected in the presence of an independent observer within 1 month of closure of the competition. The selection(s) shall be final and no correspondence will be entered into.

7. The winner(s) will be notified by email (sent to the email address provided at the time of entry), or by instant messaging on the social media platform that the winner(s) entered the competition, and will be asked to confirm his/her postal address to where the prize will be posted. In the event that:

i. the initial winner(s) is unable to be contacted;

ii. the initial winner(s) does not provide his/her postal address; or

iii. the prize is unable to be delivered by the delivery service chosen by us to the postal address provided by the initial winner(s)
then the prize will be held for a period of 3 months, after which time another successful entrant will be selected, again at random.

8. The winner’s (or winners’) name and county/state/territory will be published on our social media page that the competition was promoted on within 7 days of determination of the prize winner(s). We may also publish such information in a newspaper or other media if required to do so by applicable law.

9. To the fullest extent permitted by law, we will not in any circumstances be responsible or liable to compensate the winner or accept any liability for any loss, damage, personal injury or death occurring as a result of taking up the prize(s) except where it is caused by our negligence. Your statutory rights are not affected.

10. You agree that we may, but are not required to, make your entry available on our websites, social media pages and any other media, whether now known or invented in the future, and in connection with any publicity of the competition. You agree to grant us a non-exclusive, worldwide, irrevocable licence, for the full period of any intellectual property rights in the competition entry and any accompanying materials, to use, display, publish, transmit, copy, edit, alter, store, re-format and sub-licence the competition entry and any accompanying materials for such purposes.

11. This competition is in no way sponsored, endorsed or administered by, or associated with, the social media platform it is promoted on. By participating in our competition, you hereby release the social media platform operator from any and all liability associated with our competition.

12. You are providing your information to us and not to the social media platform operator.

13. Use of your personally identifiable information shall be in accordance with our Privacy Policy, available at,, and

14. If there is any reason to believe that there has been a breach of these rules, we may, at our sole discretion, reserve the right to exclude you from participating in our competition.

15. We reserve the right to hold void, suspend, cancel, or amend our competition where it becomes necessary to do so.

16. These rules shall be governed by English law and the parties submit to the non-exclusive jurisdiction of the English courts.
